The Pierre Governor wrestling team had its first dual of the season and opened up at home with a dominating win for the boys and girls teams. The girls won 60-0 while the boys won 45-17.
The Governor girls won all five matches by way of fall and picked up the bonus points. While it wasn’t needed it was an emphasis for head coach Matt Thorson heading into night’s contest…
Thorson says he expects a lot of confidence coming out of the dual Tuesday into Thursday…
The boys would pick up wins in 10 of 14 matches with just one forfeit win. Lincoln Shoenhard, Nate Williams and Lucas Chamberlain all had falls while Noah Williams and Tristan Spencer each had tech fall wins for the Govs. The Governors and Harrisburg Tigers were three and four in Rapid City over the past weekend but the Govs left no doubt on who the better team is between the two.
