Governors Fourth in Rapid City Invite

The Pierre Governors had a strong performance over the weekend in Rapid City as they finished fourth as a team including Blake Judson, Ciara McFarling and Marlee Shorter winning their respective weight classes. There were no girls scores recorded.

Judson in the 138 went undefeated and won his weight class as he had three fall wins in his victories including pinning his opponent in the championship. Pierre had two wrestlers finish in second place with Noah Williams in the 120 and Joshua Rydberg in the heavyweight. The Govs finished with a 177.5, seven and a half behind Harrisburg for third place, their opponent on Tuesday in its first duel of the season.

On the girls side, Shorter in the 190 won three matches, two by fall and the championship by major decision while McFarling won in the 285 division with a fall in all three matches.
