PIERRE — Pierre police are investigating a Wednesday night stabbing and are still looking for the suspect. Pierre Police Captain Bryan Walz says officers were called shortly after seven PM to the 400 block of east Sioux Avenue. The victim told police he was at his residence in the 300 block of South Brule Avenue attempting to locate another person. The victim and suspect exchanged words in a verbal argument over a loud knocking on a door. It was during that argument that the suspect stabbed the victim. The victim was transported to Avera Saint Mary’s hospital, located a short distance away to the east. The condition of the victim is not available. Walz says police have identified a suspect, but that suspect has not been located and is not in custody.
