The Pierre Governors opened up the season with success on Thursday as they took home first place in the Huron Quad. The Govs scored a 126.7, 4.4 points better than Chamberlain. Huron finished with a 112.25 and Stanley County a 110.2.
Natalie Flottmeyer was third in the vault category with an 8.45 and Emmy Loe fourth. Nevaeh Karber was first in the bars with a score of 7.95 and teammate KaCee Wilson was third with a 7.55. On the beam, Ryen Sheppick was second while Karber and Loe tied for third, Loe also won the floor category with a 9.1 while Karber was third and Emerie Stephens was fifth. Karber was second overall in the All-Around and Loe was third.
The Governors will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Sioux Falls.
