Oahe Capitals on the Road for Three Games

The Oahe Capitals took off with a 9-0 win over the Mitchell Marlins on the road and this weekend the Caps will be on the road for three games in three days.

Tonight the Caps will open the weekend taking on a much improved Aberdeen Cougar team. The Cougars have not made the state tournament the last two seasons but their depth and young core are poised to make a run to get back to the tournament in Sioux Falls in March. It’s the first game of the season for the Cougars.

Then on Saturday the Capitals will be in Watertown to face the Lakers after their opening season win over the Marlins 6-1 last weekend. The Lakers will be on the back end of a back-to-back facing Sioux Falls 1 on Friday. Owen McBride, the Watertown goaltender is one of the best in the state.

Finally on Sunday, the Caps will end the weekend against the Huron All-Stars. The limited numbers for Huron will be problems for the All-Stars this season but for the second straight day, the Capitals will face one of the top goalies in the state with Cooper Letcher between the pipes.

All three games will be available to listen and watch on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports. Coverage will begin at 7:40 tonight, 8:10 tomorrow night and 3:40 on Sunday with game times at 8:00, 8:30 and 4:00. Jon Winkler will have the call.
