PIERRE — The Pierre Area Chamber is gearing up for the third annual Light Up The Pierre Area Holiday Light Competition. Community members are encouraged to enter decorated homes and businesses for the competition. There’s no fee to participate, however displays should be on daily from December seventh through December 29th starting at six PM each night. A People’s Choice award is a part of the competition. To be included on the map of sites and for People’s Choice consideration, addresses must pre-register by December 3rd. Prizes in the competition include 100 dollars in Pierre Pride Dollars in the categories of Best in Show, Clark Griswold for most lights, Best Holiday Business and People’s Choice. Registration is available at the pierre-dot-org website by clicking on the Light Up The Pierre Area event on the calendar. A map of all participating locations will be available by five PM on Tuesday December 7th.
