Capitals Have Three Home Contest to Begin Season

The Oahe Capitals return all but one player from last year’s team. Jenna Keyser was the lone graduate from the Capitals as they open up the season this weekend with three home games.

The Capitals return its goalie in Abigail Stewart-Fromm who had the third most shots against and third most saves while being sixth in the league in save percentage. With another year of experience for the team, both Stewart-Fromm and the defense will be much stronger. The Capitals also bring in Ashton Lee as she returns to the girls team after spending the last two seasons playing on the boys team. Lee is a Jamestown Hockey commit for the 2022 season and as she returns to girls team she says it’s not much different…

Head Coach of the Oahe Capitals, Tessa Singleton says having Lee back with her experience mixed in with the team will be vital early on…

And the depth the Capitals have will be something most teams won’t have the luxury of having and Singleton says it will be beneficial…

Lee and Olivia Swenson are the two captains this year for the Capitals and Swenson says she’s looking forward to what this team can do…

And Singleton says this weekend, points are important…

The Capitals will face Huron on Friday who is currently 1-2. They will face Rushmore on Saturday who split with Huron last weekend and are 1-1 and then will face Brookings on Sunday as they currently sit at 1-0 but will play on Saturday. Both Saturday and Sunday games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports to watch as coverage will begin at 4:40 on Saturday and 1:40 on Sunday with Jon Winkler on the call.
