Govs Swept, Finish State Tournament in Eighth Place

It was not the ending the Pierre Governors were hoping for, but Pierre would finish its state tournament at 0-3 and in eighth place, as they fell to Harrisburg in three straight sets, 25-11, 26-24 and 25-21.

Pierre couldn’t get off on the right foot in the opening set, picking up just two kills in the 14 point loss. The serve receive also wasn’t there for Pierre as the Tigers had 13 aces on the Govs. Ayvrie Kaiser had 10 kills for Pierre which finished with 17 total as a team. Pierre finished the year at 16-8.

Addison Cumbow and Jenna Bush finish their careers with the Pierre Governors and will be the only two not to return to the 2022 Gov volleyball team. They left their mark on the Governor program which will be sure to be fighting for a spot in the state tournament next year.
