PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission is ready to take another swing at reconstructing a runway at Pierre Regional Airport. Airport Manager Cameron Howard says the project was supposed to be ready to go for 2022…
Commissioners also approved for the airport an application for a marketing grant made possible by passage of Senate Bill 162 during last year’s legislative session…
Commissioner Jamie Huizenga says the city is working on plans on how to use those dollars…
The money for the runway project comes as a result of Pierre passing the 10-thousand enplanement mark as part of being enrolled in the Essential Air Service program. So far this year, Pierre has over 13-thousand enplanements with two months remaining.
