Capitals Sweep Weekend in Preseason Hockey

The Oahe Capital boys had another strong weekend as preseason play continues. The varsity team went 3-0 with two wins over Aberdeen and a win over Mitchell allowing just one goal in three games.

The Capitals are now 5-2-1 in the preseason as they beat Aberdeen in two games on Saturday with scores of 4-1 and 4-0 with Carter Schulz pitching his first shutout of the season with 19 saves on the night. The next afternoon, Colin Lee would pitch his first varsity shutout in an 8-0 win over the Mitchell Marlins, also notching 19 saves. Eighth grader Carter Sanderson scored five times in three games including a hat trick on Sunday in the 8-0 win.

The Caps will have a weekend off before the varsity will travel to Okoboji. The first varsity game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 26, the day after Thanksgiving, in Mitchell. You can listen to Capitals games on Capital City Rock and watch them on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
