Capitals Girls Win Preseason Tournament in Sioux Falls

The Oahe Capital girls varsity team played in the “Fight Like a Ninja Tournament” over the weekend in Sioux Falls and took home a first place trophy going 3-0-1, defeating the defending state champion, Aberdeen Cougars 2-1 in the title game.

The Fight Like a Ninja Scholarship and tournament is to help raise awareness to Mental Health as five teams participated in the 14U tournament and eight teams played in the 19U tournament. The Capitals beat the Brookings Rangers 2-1 on Friday before pitching a shutout 2-0 over the Ninja team. Oahe would tie Sioux Center 2-2 to close out pool play and advance to the championship game where they would knock off the defending state champions Aberdeen Cougars 2-1.

The Oahe Capitals will begin its regular season at home on Friday, Nov. 26 against the Huron All-Stars. The Caps will play on both Saturday and Sunday at home in the opening weekend.
