Wednesday, the South Dakota High School Activities Association formally announced that Softball will be added to the state sports in the near future.
The board of directors voted to pass and sanctioned the sport but did not decide on which season it will be played. The board will plan and discuss it further in January whether it will be in the fall or spring.
