Public Hearing Held To Move Missouri Shores Grant Application Forward

PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission held a public hearing Tuesday as part of the process to help Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center apply for a grant to help build a new shelter. Missouri Shores is unable to apply for a Community Development Block Grant on its own, but can use the City of Pierre as a pass-through organization. There was no public comment for or against the plan. The Pierre City Commission passed two resolutions needed for the process. The application for the C-D-B-G grant should be sent to the state for consideration in a few weeks.
