Charger Volleyball Season Comes to an End, but not Without a Fight

Showing grit, hard work, and solid team play the seventh seeded Sully Buttes Charger volleyball team gave it all they could against the second seeded Potter County Battlers, and in the end, it was the veteran Potter County team that now advances to play Thursday as they knocked off Sully Buttes by the finals of 28-26, 27-29, 25-17 and 25-14 Tuesday night in Gettysburg.

Back and forth point swapping had the crowd cheering each hit and lead change, but the Battlers used their veteran senior led squad to wear down the Chargers, who were back on the court following a victory Monday night.

Leading the way for Sully Buttes once again were Allyson Wittler and Lydia Hill, with each player getting eight kills apiece, while Stevie Wittler added seven.  Lone senior Tailynne Bradford finished with a flurry and led the team in sets.  Potter County was led by Tyler Simon and Makenna Miller each with seven kills.

Potter County will now be at home Thursday night against third seed Miller, who defeated Herreid Selby Area in three sets.

The Battlers up their record to 20-7, while Sully Buttes finishes the year at 9-22.
