The Pierre Governors fell victim to Sioux Falls Jefferson as they continue their hot streak to finish out the regular season with one match to play. The Governors finish the year at 15-5. Scores were 25-22, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-15.
Pierre did not lead in the match until the third set as they were unable to press pass the Cavaliers in the first two sets although they were able to stay close in the first set. Ayvrie Kaiser led the way in kills again for the Governors as she finished with 14 as she tied the match high with Jefferson’s Ella Kvernmo. The downfall for the Governors in the match was the serve receive as Jefferson picked up 11 aces while Pierre had just two. Jefferson improves to 12-15 on the year and will finish the season against Aberdeen Central at home on Thursday.
Head Coach Tiffany Stoeser will join Coach’s Corner live from the Longbranch on Wednesday. Pierre will have to wait until after Saturday matches are complete to know their opponent for the SoDak 16 which will they host next Thursday. The match will be on KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
