Fort Pierre City Council To Meet Tonight

FORT PIERRE — The Fort Pierre City Council is meeting tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League building. Council members will consider approval of the agenda and will declare any conflicts of interest before hearing reports from city officials. A pair of proclamations will be made to start the meeting; one for Buddy Poppy Day and the second for marking November as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. Council members will consider granting authorization to order a trench box; purchase and finance a loader and two plows and order a truck for purchase next year. Two public hearing dates will be set for November 15th for a temporary liquor license and a firearms discharge permit. The Council will consider approval of a temporary liquor license, a personnel item, an abatement and a request for proposal for an engineering study on the city’s electric system. Council members will also discuss coronavirus funds and hold a discussion on the redistricting efforts of the South Dakota legislature. The Fort Pierre City Council meets tonight at 6:30 P-M.
