PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The Commission will give second reading to the repealing of sections of the city’s business license ordinance. The change would repeal articles on auctioneers, games and devices of amusement and theaters, opera houses and moving picture shows. New business for the Commission includes consideration of a memorandum of understanding with the Pierre Area Pickleball Association. Commissioners will also consider an engineering contract with Broz Engineering for the Pickleball court project. The Commission will consider a lease agreement with the Oahe Family Y-M-C-A and will get an update from the Deer Management Task Force. Commissioners will also consider five requests to purchase for equipment or vehicles for various city departments. Included are pick-ups for the Airport and Park Department; a mini-track loader for the cemetery, a tractor for the parks department and a soil compactor for the street department.
