Chargers Volleyball Close out Regular Season with Five Set Loss

In a back and forth matchup, the Sully Buttes Chargers just couldn’t squeeze enough points out in the fifth set tie breaker, and Hitchcock Tulare escaped with a 17-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-12 victory Friday night in Onida.

The scores indicate how close each set was, with leads no bigger than eight.  Sully Buttes committed 12 service errors, while Hitchcock Tulare had nine. 

Lydia Hill led the way in kills for the Chargers, with Allyson Wittler was close behind.  Tailynne Bradford celebrated Senior Night, and led in sets for the team once again.  For the Patriots, freshman Katelyn Schroeder showed veteran leadership and led in kills , with senior Shandi Chasing Hawk controlled the night at the net with sets. 

The Chargers finish the regular season at 8-20, while Hitchcock Tulare upped its mark to 11-14.  Post season volleyball play begins the first week of November.
