Sully Buttes in Alcester to Face Alcester-Hudson in the 8-9 Matchup

The Sully Buttes Chargers finished the regular season at .500 at 4-4 and claimed the nine seed, one spot away from a home playoff game. Instead, the Chargers will now travel over to Alcester to face the Alcester-Hudson Cubs in the first round of the 9B playoffs.

The Chargers have moved pieces around after having its quarterback, Landon Hepker go down with a season ending injury. While the offense was shutout in the loss to close the season to Potter County, will look to get the offense fired up quickly in Alcester.

The Cubs played just seven games this season and after starting out 0-3 have won four straight including a 56-8 win over Colome to close the season, one of two common opponents on the season. The Chargers and Cubs both beat Colome and Corsica-Stickney this season. Alcester-Hudson is averaging 49 points per game in the four game winning streak but are giving up around 28 points per game in that same span. It could be a high flying, high scoring first round matchup between the two teams.

Mark Senftner, head coach of the Sully Buttes Chargers, says this Alcester-Hudson team is a big 9B team…
