Stanley County Faces Stout Lyman Raiders in Class 9AA First Round

An area matchup kicks off the Class 9AA football playoffs. The Stanley County Buffaloes will travel down to the Presho to take on the Lyman Raiders in the 4-13 matchup.

The Raiders tout one of the best backs in the state in Colton Collins who have torched teams throughout the season as the Raiders went 7-1 winning its last four games including back-to-back shutouts over Phillip and Jones County. The Buffalo defense will be looking to stop the run game of Collins which is easier said than done.

Lyman may be the only team hotter than Stanley County heading into the playoffs as the Buffs also has a four game winning streak and two straight 50 point wins to close out the season. It’s the first and only time the Buffs were over .500 in the regular season. Stanley County also gets several players fully back from injury as Gavin Irving and Evan Nordstrom were both dealing with ailments but are 100% heading into tonight. Head Coach of the Stanley County Buffaloes, Max Foth says it’s good to have everybody healthy to become much more dangerous…

Foth says Lyman is very talented a good team…

Foth says they need to steal possessions against Lyman tonight…

Kickoff from Lyman High School in Presho is scheduled for 7:00. The winner of tonight’s game will play the winner of the 5-12 matchup Leola/Frederick Area at Timber Lake.
