Redistricting Committees Meet At State Capitol Monday

PIERRE — The South Dakota Legislature’s Redistricting Committee held one of the shortest meetings in a series of meetings to help lawmakers rebuild South Dakota’s legislative boundary map for the next 10 years. The meeting was a wrap up of a statewide listening tour while taking additional public testimony. Senate Chair of the Committee Mary Duvall of Pierre is hopeful the Committee is ready to pull a map together with about a month left before a special session…

Duvall says four maps are available for the public to look over online…

While it’s not final at all, Duvall has an idea on what the “new” District 24 could possibly look like…

The House and Senate Redistricting Committees have one more meeting scheduled to finalize proposals to bring to a special session of the Legislature on November 8th.
