Pierre Football in Aberdeen for Final Road Game

A cool October night will fill the air in Aberdeen as the Pierre Governors will travel for the final time in the regular season as they take on the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles.

The two teams are streaking but in opposite directions. After the first loss of the season the Governors have now won six in a row and stand at 6-1 on the season. Aberdeen Central started the year at 3-0 but have lost four straight and are under .500. Coach Scott Svendsen says the team has been dealing with some injuries but is starting to recover. He says it includes star quarterback Sam Rohlfs who provides a dynamic threat to the Golden Eagles offensive attack.

The Governors have their own high powered offensive attack but it doesn’t include just one or two guys. Six different receivers have caught touchdown passes from Lincoln Kienholz. Jack Merkwans has snagged 12 while Kade Kaiser and Matt Hanson each have four. Kienholz has thrown 22 touchdowns to just one interception this season. Head Coach of the Pierre Governors says you can really see the chemistry with this offense…

Steele says it will be a big game for the defensive ends trying to keep the Aberdeen Central quarterback at bay…

Steele is quick to say what it will take to beat Aberdeen Central tonight…

The Governors and Golden Eagles have kickoff at 7:00 with pregame at 6:30 on KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Greg Dean on the call.
