The Pierre Governor cross country team competed on Saturday at the ESD meet in Brandon as the Pierre boys found themselves in fourth place as a team with Hayden Shaffer finishing in second place.
Shaffer had a time of 16:41 which was five seconds behind Josh Martin of Aberdeen Central who won the event. Jared Lutmer finished in sixth place as the Governors had two top ten finishes on the afternoon. Mason Dell was 13th while Brady Gere was just outside of the top 20 at 22nd. Blake Judson was 33rd for the Governors who were third place as a team with 76 points. Aberdeen Central won with 53 and Harrisburg was second at 55.
Lizbeth Crosby had the best finish for the Pierre girls inside the Top 20 at 16th place. Autumn Iverson was in 30th and Jazzlyn Rombough was 38th for Pierre
