The Pierre Cheer and Dance team traveled to Mitchell as both teams finished in fourth place.
The dance team scored 234.75 points overall with Yankton finishing in first at 268.75. The Govs placed second in the pom division with a 246, but were sixth in the hip-hop division at 233.5.
The Cheer team scored a 196.5 which was less than two points shy of third place. Brandon Valley was the grand champion of the day with a 255.
The Governors have the ESD competition in Watertown on Thursday. It begins at 5:00.
