Pierre Soccer Concludes Season with Home Doubleheader

Pierre Soccer Concludes Season with Home Doubleheader

For the final time in 2021, the Pierre Governors will have a doubleheader in the regular season. This afternoon, the Huron Tigers will be in town to close out the season.

After a huge tie on Tuesday, the Governors remained in eighth place in the standings with just two days of games left. After playing Huron, Pierre will have to scoreboard watch on Thursday to see if they will have a first round home playoff game. But to make that happen, the Governors have to get a win against the Tigers. Huron comes in at 4-6-1 and have lost three of its last four with its lone win, a 6-4 score over Watertown.

The Governor girls will face a winless Tiger team with a first round home game all but wrapped up. Pierre cannot overlook the Tiger squad, but Huron has struggled in all facets of the game this season. Huron is averaging 8.5 goals against with just one goal for, so far this year. Pierre will look to continue that trend before the playoffs begin.

Coverage will begin at 3:40 on KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports as the boys will play first, followed by the girls contest. The seniors will be recognized before each varsity game.
