The Pierre Cross Country team had a six place finish for the boys in Rapid City on Friday with two Pierre girls finishing inside the top 50.
Autumn Iverson and LizBeth Crosby were 48th and 49th respectively for the Pierre Governor girls team as they had the best run for Pierre. Jazzlyn Rombough was 75th and Lennix Dupris was 88th on the day. 16 total teams competed as the Governor girls finished in 12th place as a team.
On the boys side, Hayden Shaffer had a top ten finish at nine with a time 16:27, just a little over a minute off the lead. Jared Lutmer was 17th while Blake Judson also finished inside the top 40 at 37. The Governor team finished in sixth place with 160 points while Sheridan High School in Nebraska had a team total of 66 for the win.
The Governors are less than a month out with the state championship meet on October 23.
