Pierre Soccer Hosts Jefferson on Rare Saturday Home Match

The Pierre Soccer teams will remain at home with only two matches left to play as they host Sioux Falls Jefferson for the first time in history.

The girls will look for a better offensive output on Saturday after a scoreless tie to the Yankton Gazelles. The positive is the Cavaliers are farther down in the standings at 14, at 2-6-1 on the year. Jefferson has won back to back games though with wins over Huron and Washington by a combined 7-0 score. The Governors have dropped down to seventh in the standings with just two games left to play.

The Governor boys will also look to fire the offense back up on Saturday after being shutout for the second time this season in its four losses. Even with the loss the Governors are still flirting with a top eight spot in the AA standings. A win against an 8-1 Jefferson team could secure a home game in the first round. The Cavaliers have lost for the first time on Tuesday, as they fell 2-1 to the Washington Warriors.

Coverage will begin at 12:40 on KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube to watch at KCCR Sports. Kickoff of the  girls game is scheduled for 1:00 with the boys game to follow.
