The Pierre Soccer teams won its last road matches of the season on Thursday as both the boys and girls downed the Brookings Bobcats with the boys winning 3-2 and the girls 5-2.
Cole Peterson and Rylan Derry added to their goal totals again as Peterson finished with two and Derry the other of the three. Derry assisted on one of Peterson’s goal to up his career assists to 17 and also tied Peterson with his 10th assist of the season. Jeremy Knigge picked up an assist in the win.
The Governor girls had to play shorthanded for the majority of the match after goalie Jenna Gehring picked up a red car, but the Govs were able to still win shorthanded to improve to 7-3 on the season. Ryann Barry had two goals for Pierre while Kamden Kuipers, Avery Davis and Gracelyn Taylor all added a goal. Jillian Hanson played in net and made several saves for the Governors as she will most likely get the start on Tuesday against Yankton before Gehring returns.
