FORT PIERRE — A Midland man is sentenced to probation time and fines for ingesting methamphetamine in Stanley County. Stanley County States Attorney Tom Maher says 27 year-old Shane Briggs entered a guilty plea to having meth in his system on July 18th of this year during an incident that involved other related drug offenses. Briggs was ordered by Sixth Circuity Judge Margo Northrup to complete two years of supervised probation. Northrup deferred imposition of the sentence. The sentence includes a fine of 500-dollars, 215-dollars in costs and a number of standard and special probation conditions that include testing for drug use during the probation period. Briggs is one of five people sentenced on drug related offences this week in Stanley County. None of the five sentenced for drug use was from Stanley County.
