Peterson, Derry Combo Enjoying Offensive Success

It’s been a historic season for the Pierre Governor boys soccer programs and it’s yet to reach the end of the regular season. Saturday’s game in Brandon saw Cole Peterson and Rylan Derry break career marks.

The Governors offensive output has been something it’s not seen since soccer has become a state sport. The Govs have scored 31 goals in nine games this season. Of the 31 goals, Peterson and Derry have combined for 25 with Peterson at 15 and Derry at 10. Saturday’s game marked historic goals for both Peterson and Derry as they now have 17 career goals each, breaking the career record which was set by Cole Cruse with 16. Derry also holds the career assist record with 16 while the previous record was 11.
