Pierre Soccer Hosts Harrisburg after Week Off

The Pierre Governor soccer teams both knocked off Mitchell last week Thursday on the road. Now the Governors, with just six games remaining will be at home for four of the final matches. Thursday, they host the Harrisburg Tigers.

The Pierre girls continue to play well sitting at 6-1 on the year and taking hold of the top spot in the AA standings. Pierre has outscored its opponent 22-5 on the season. Harrisburg comes in at 4-1-2 having lost only to Watertown, 1-0. The Tigers also had a tie with Class A Tea Area and Brandon Valley, both 1-1 scores. Harrisburg sits around the eighth spot, looking to host a first round matchup, but will have a tough week facing Pierre, then Aberdeen Central on Saturday.

The Governor boys are still flirting with a top eight spot beginning the week at number nine but will be facing Harrisburg who is at number 10 in seed points. The Governors are 1-1-1 in the last three matches while the Tigers have not won since the first game of the season and are 1-3-3 on the year. Pierre and Watertown tied 3-3 while the Arrows shutout the Tigers 3-0 last Thursday.
