PIERRE — Pierre police are investigating an injury crash next to T-F Riggs High School. The crash happened Tuesday morning as students were arriving at the high school for classes after the Labor Day holiday. Captain Bryan Walz says a motorcycle was traveling east on East Broadway Avenue near North Washington Avenue when it struck a northbound pick-up that had previous stopped at the Broadway/Washington intersection. The pick-up was trying to cross Broadway and enter the Riggs parking lot. The motorcycle operator received serious injuries and was taken to Avera St. Mary’s hospital, via A-M-R Ambulance. Walz did not say if the either of the drivers involved were students at Riggs High School.
