Pierre Soccer Swept in Aberdeen

For the first time this season the Pierre Governor soccer teams didn’t leave the day with at least one win as both teams were shutout against Aberdeen on the road.

The boys team fell behind early and Denan Deuter scored three goals en route to a 7-0 win over Pierre. The team averaging five goals a game just couldn’t find any offense in either half against the Golden Eagles as they were outshot 19-2 in the game. Carson Ahartz had seven saves for the Governors.

In the girls contest the Golden Eagles put up three first half goals and also outshot the Governors 11-3 in a 4-0 win over Pierre in a battle of unbeaten teams. Jenna Gehring made seven saves as Jayda Hammer, Dalani Peters, Laura Joosten and Megan Fiedler all scores for the Golden Eagles who are now 5-0 on the season.

The Governors will get right back to work on Tuesday as they face the Watertown Arrows. Kickoff of the boys game will be at 4:00 with the girls game to follow. You can listen to the game on KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
