Pierre Volleyball Begins Season in Watertown

The Pierre Governor volleyball team will begin its season on the road on Tuesday as they travel to Watertown to face the Arrows.

The Arrows won the state championship back in 2019 and were the consolation champions in 2020. The team is always dangerous and looking to be just as competitive again in the 2021 year. The Governors will have a younger team this year with every athlete having played at least some JV time last season. The Governors have just one senior this year, Addison Cumbow, having time spent on both JV and varsity last season. Saturday, the Govs had its preseason scrimmage and head coach Tiffany Stoeser says having the scrimmage was important…

With the limited varsity playing time heading into the season, Stoeser says the first game will have some nerves…

Stoeser says, they’re going to focus on the things they do well looking to knock off Watertown…

Coverage will start at 6:40 on KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with first serve at 7:00. Jon Winkler will be on the call.
