With a potent rushing attack, and a quick reacting defense the Sully Buttes Chargers ended the game early Friday night against the Colome Cowboys by the final of 52-0.
After Colome gave the ball over on downs in their first possession, the Chargers took it from there, with scoring drives of 23, 43, 60, 67, 44, and 50, most of it on the ground. Junior Thomas Farries rushed for 236 yards, and senior back Jordan Schall added 37, as the Chargers rolled up 322 yards on the ground. Junior quarterback Landon Hepker was two of six for 71 yards and both receivers scored after the catch. The Chargers led at the half by a score of 46-0, and finished the game on the first play, capped by a Farries 75 yard run.
The Cowboys couldn’t sustain any offense throughout the evening, and finished the game with 25 yards of offense.
The Chargers, now 1-0, will travel to Corsica Stickney to take on the Jaguars, while Colome (0-1) will be at home against Sunshine Bible Academy.
