Avera’s Missouri River Health Center In Gettysburg To Benefit From $200,000 Gift

GETTYSBURG — The Avera Missouri River Health Center in Gettysburg will be the benefactor of a 200-thousand dollar gift from the estate of a Gettysburg man. Craig Smith was a law partner, estate planner and most of all friend of the late Joseph Nuemayr whose ties to the hospital in Gettysburg go back to the 1950’s…

The gift was established before Avera renovated the Avera Gettysburg Hospital in 2019 and did so with help from the South Dakota Community Foundation…

Stephanie Judson with the South Dakota Community Foundation says her organization is honored to be able to help make Nuemayr’s vision a reality…

Avera Missouri River Health Center Administrator Kristie Livermont says the impact of gifts like this is seen every day….

The Avera Missouri River Health Center has been in full operation since December of 2020. A formal ribbon cutting event has been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic but is expected in mid-September.
