The Pierre Trappers actually trailed in the game on Wednesday against the Western Nebraska Pioneers 5-2, but would wind up on the winning end of a 20-8 route of the Pioneers.
Eight of the nine men in the starting lineup for Pierre recorded at least one RBI with Brendon Perez, Jared Shelton and Cole Yancey all recording four RBIs in the win including Shelton with a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth. The Trappers out hit the Pioneers 18-10 in the win with everybody in the lineup contributing at least one hit. Adrian Lopez was the winning pitching going six innings allowing six runs on seven hits, striking out four. It was the biggest offensive output of the season for Pierre by far.
The Trappers will quickly get back on the field with a doubleheader tonight against Western Nebraska. First pitch of game one is at 5:35 with the second game to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
