Pierre Trappers Shutout in Doubleheader Sweep

A night after scoring 20 runs, the bats went cold as the Pierre Trappers were shutout in a doubleheader against the Western Nebraska Pioneers losing 9-0 in game one and 6-0 in game two.

The Trappers only received five hits in the two games while placing 18 hits over eight innings on Wednesday. The frustration set in early in the doubleheader just being unable to pick up hits and runs 24 hours after having the barrage. The two losses drop the Trappers to 6-18 as their playoff hopes are dashed with just nine games left but are 11 games back of the division. Monterio May, Trappers manager says it now turns into working for fall ball for these guys…

May says the lack of hits was the result of not having good at bats…

And May says it’s frustrating going from Wednesday night to Thursday…

The Trappers will finish its road portion of the schedule in Spearfish this weekend before returning home for six games to close the season.
