A long travel for two schools, but a chance to play football has been allowed by the South Dakota High School Activities Association in Monday’s meeting. Starting this fall and approved through the 2024 school year, Harding County and Bison will Co-op. The team will be a part of Class 9B.
The two schools are about 56 miles apart and will join together for a Class 9B school starting this season and will run for the next three years. The Board unanimously approved the request.
Other items from the meeting, Eric Denning was certified as Division IV representative and there will be a runoff election between Kelly Messmer of Harding County and Todd Palmer of Sturgis for the West River At-Large representative because no member received the majority of the votes.
