Big Inning Leads to Spearfish win over Trappers

The Spearfish Sasquatch scored in the first two innings and used a six run sixth to defeat the Pierre Trappers in Spearfish on Monday night, 11-4.

After Spearfish would jump out to a 1-0 lead, Brendon Perez would double home two runs giving the Trappers a 3-2 lead. In the top of the third, the Trappers would again take a lead with an RBI single by Adams and a sacrifice fly from Brock Rinehart. Pierre would hold on to the lead until sixth when the Sasquatch would score five runs on five straight singles with another run scoring on a steal of second and scoring on the throw to fill up the scoreboard to a 9-4 lead. Johnny McHenry would finish the win with a two run homer in the seventh to put the score at its final, 11-4.

The Trappers are now 15-36 on the season and 6-16 in the second half. With only 13 games left to play, the Trappers trail in the division by 10 games. Pierre will look to start a wild run on Tuesday against Spearfish with first pitch at 7:35 Central Time.
