A loss on Friday in the opener of the series for Pierre Post 8 put them without any room for error, but the Eights were able to win both Saturday and Sunday to stay alive and be one of the final four teams in the state tournament.

On Sunday, Maguire Raske channeled his 2017 pitching performance in a state tournament as he went five and a third innings, striking out 12 Harrisburg batters on two hits in a 6-0 shutout victory. Pierre used three errors, scoring five unearned runs in the win. Aaron Booth finished the job getting the final five outs with three strike outs. The Eights will play at 8:00 on Monday against Renner. The Royals won 6-4 over Rapid City Post 22 to be the only undefeated team left in the tournament.
