Dean’s Walk-off Home Run Sends Eights to Sunday

Bennett Dean hit a two out, three run home run to walk-off Watertown on Saturday in the bottom of the eighth to keep Pierre Post 8’s season alive.

Cade Hinkle hit a three run home run in the first inning for Pierre as the offene was stymied from there until the eight inning. Two solo shots, one from Kale Stevenson and another from Ben Althoff, along with an RBI single by Trevor Rowdon tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the third. Lincoln Kienholz threw six and a third innings before being relieved by pitch count. Aaron Booth finished out the seventh inning before Isaac Polak threw a scoreless eighth inning. In the bottom of the eight, Maguire Raske had a one out double and with two outs, Hinkle was intentionally walked to bring up Dean who drove a ball out of right field to walk-off the game and send the team into a frenzy.

The Eights will play the loser of Harrisburg and Post 22 on Sunday at 2:30. Coverage will begin at 2:10 on KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Greg Dean on the call.
