NO HITTER, Rausch No-Hits Whiskey Jacks as Trappers Sweep Home Series

Fischer Rausch took the ball for the Pierre Trappers on Thursday night in front of the home faithful at Hyde Stadium. What followed in the next two and half hours was a performance of a lifetime. Rausch threw a complete game no-hitter as the Trappers beat the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 5-0 completing a two game home sweep.

Rausch, a freshman this season at Southeast Missouri State, allowed four walks and hit one man while striking out 10 to achieve a feat which has only been done once before in Expedition League history. The Trappers scored runs in the bottom of the second on a two RBI single from Richard Williams. Pierre would add the insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh on a two RBI single from Ty Stauss and an RBI single from Nick Strong.

Ruasch is thankful for his defense and says they were terrific behind him…

Rausch says while he was on the field and on the mound, his mind was on just throwing strikes…

Rausch describes the last out…

Trappers’ manager, Monterio May says this is a last memory for this season and beyond for all these guys…

May praised his offense as they accumulated 11 hits in the ballgame and he says it’s been an emphasis to hit with runners in scoring position…

And May says they will use these last two wins as momentum…

The Trappers are now 4-10 in the second half of the season and will now play the Whiskey Jacks in a weekend series, in Grand Forks with first pitch on Friday at 7:05.
