PIERRE — Work crews continue to power ahead with construction of Pierre’s 37-million dollar drinking water treatment plant along the Missouri River. City of Pierre Project Manager Gidget Palmer says pumps that will go in the pump station, north of the highway bridge arrived Tuesday…

Palmer asked the Pierre City Commission for permission to request bids to connect the plant to the city’s existing system…

Bids for the project are due July 29th with substantial completion of the pipe installation by November 1st. Substantial completion of the drinking water treatment plant project is in October with the plant expected to be churning out manganese-free drinking water by the summer of 2022.
