The Pierre Trappers outhit the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs on Tuesday night, 9-8 but they couldn’t string together enough hits to score a run as the Sabre Dogs finished off a sweep winning with a shutout 4-0.
The Sabre Dogs picked up a run in the first and fourth inning off a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead. Allen Grier hit a solo shot to lead off the fifth inning and a sixth inning error plated the fourth runner for the Sabre Dogs as they had three pitchers combine for the complete game shutout.
The Trappers drop to 2-10 in the second half of the season and have lost four straight. The Sabre Dogs remain atop the Lewis Division now at 7-5. Pierre will return home to face the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks for another quick two game set on Wednesday and Thursday. First pitch tonight is at 7:05.
