PIERRE — The Pierre School Board is meeting tonight at the District Administration Building. The Board will conduct its annual reorganization which brings a three-page agenda, although most of the items are under the consent calendar and can be approved in a single motion. Board members will consider approval of the agenda then hear the Superintendent’s report, followed by Board and public comments. The oath of office will be given to both Randy Hartmann and Dennis James. A new Board president and vice president will be selected as a part of the reorganization along with getting new committee assignments. Following the formalities, the Pierre School Board will consider final reading and adoption of the Riggs High School handbook revisions and take similar action on the Athletic handbook. Board members will consider cyber insurance, the audit engagement for Fiscal Year 2021 and bids for contracted chartered buses. A hearing will be held on the 2021-2022 Fiscal Year budget with consideration of adoption. Other agenda items include open enrollments, resignations, contact times and an executive session to review school safety. The Pierre School Board meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
