Trappers Drilled in First Inning in Loss

A seven run first inning for the Western Nebraska Pioneers would hold up in the 13-6 loss for the Pierre Trappers in the first game of now a two-game set with Tuesday’s game being rained out.

The Trappers drop to 1-4 in the second half of the season. Branden Perez didn’t record an out in his start as six of the seven runs in the top of the first were earned against Perez and the Pioneers were able to put in on cruise control adding runs in the second, fifth, seventh and ninth. Joseph Bramanti did hit his fourth home run of the season and he continues to swing a hot bat for the Trappers.

Monterio May, Pierre Trappers manager, says they didn’t come out with any intensity…

The Trappers were even with the Pioneers the rest of the way after the top of the first inning and May wants to build off of that notion…

May says with the home stretch adding another game on Saturday they want to use the environment from the fans to get some wins…

And May wants to see a better game on Thursday…

The Trappers and Western Nebraska Pioneers will close out the series on Thursday with first pitch at 7:05 on Thursday night at Hyde Stadium.
