The Walworth County Commission voted to close the jail in Selby last October over safety and security concerns. A federal lawsuit was filed against the facility by seven inmates. It was dismissed following closure of the jail. The jail averaged approximately 20 inmates daily. Walworth County voters rejected an 11-million dollar bond to build a new county jail.
