After a big split with Brandon Valley, Pierre Post 8 will travel to Mitchell Friday night looking for a sweep to stay up in the seed points.
After Sioux Falls West split with both Yankton and Aberdeen on Tuesday and Wednesday, Pierre overtook them for the number three team in the legion standings. Pierre has won 12 of the last 14 games against South Dakota opponents including a doubleheader sweep of Mitchell back on June 10. Mitchell dropped a doubleheader to Brookings Wednesday night and has now dropped its last three South Dakota games after winning four straight. Mitchell is currently in 11th place in the standings and would be on the road in the region round if the playoffs would begin today.
The doubleheader is scheduled for first pitch at 5:00 with pregame at 4:40 on KCCR, kccrradio.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
