It was a tale of two games on Friday as Pierre Post 8 split with Mitchell hitting the ball around the yard in a 13-2 win and the bats going cold a 9-0 loss.
Pierre secured 16 hits in game on scoring 13 times in part due to the middle of the order as hitters four through eight each picked up an RBI as Andy Gordon and Elliot Leif each picked up three RBIs. Isaac Polak was brilliant again as he allowed just one earned run over the complete game victory as he is now 6-0 winning every game he’s thrown. Pierre tallied four runs in the third inning to claim the lead for good going up 5-1.
In game two, the story was flipped as Landon Waddell would throw a complete game shutout for Mitchell allowing just five hits on the evening and forced the Eights’ bats to go cold in just their third loss against South Dakota opponents in the last 16 games. Jayden Wiebe was tagged for five runs in the first inning giving up six straight hits as Jake Helliloid had the biggest blow with a three run double to put Mitchell out on top.
